MRO Tracking System: What you need to Know?

For the past 10 years, the aviation industry is seeing a new growth of 5.9% per annum. This certainly paints a picture of how the industry is progressing at a very fast pace. There is no argument that airplanes are a marvelous feat of engineering. Being a vehicle that cruises through the sky, they need immaculate care and maintenance while they are on the ground, readying for the next takeoff. Special maintenance and engineering teams, called MRO, are put in place to ensure that each build and maintenance project go as planned. Now when you think of an airplane, you might not consider the number of parts that make up one. For quick reference, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner has 2.3 Million parts and it is not even in the category of mainstream large aircraft! So, this means that inhouse maintenance or third-party MRO service partners have to maintain the optimum inventory of parts to service based on the fleet. The MRO Parts tracking is a challenge, if managed effectively will avoid s

What aircraft maintenance team does to ensure passenger safety?

The concerns of cabin safety do not begin and end with pre-flight safety demonstration. There are many safety equipment onboard aircraft which are crucial in an emergency. Aircraft Pressure and Oxygen mask Aircrafts hover above 30,000 feet, where the atmospheric pressure is just about 1/4 th of the atmospheric pressure at sea level. The lack of pressure will lead to difficulty in breathing and if unattended, may even result in death in less than a minute. To avoid such a situation, aircrafts pump air into the aircraft to maintain the interior pressure at a comfortable level for passengers.  However, depressurization can still occur due to the malfunctioning of ventilation system or through leaks in the hull. When the aircraft’s sensors detect such decrease in pressure, breathing equipment (oxygen mask) is triggered to drop automatically in front of the passenger. Life Vests As part of the safety equipment onboard, all aircrafts have life vests - used in emergency si
